Ancient Greek Dance
Sara moved to Athens for the first time in 2005. Passionate about Greek history, she soon came in contact with Ancient Greek Dance. Her curiosity took her to follow classes and to travel the entire country to experience its landscapes, archaeological spaces and museums. She became a researcher of Ancient Greek Dance at the Dora Stratou Theatre in Athens and came in contact with the extraordinary work of the Ancient Orchesis Study Group.
She has choreographed for Caryatids - Ancient Greek Dance Company and co-choreographed the performance "Pythia - the dance of prophecy" that took place in the ruins of Delphi as part of the Greek Festival «Όλη η Ελλάδα ένας Πολιτισμός» (performance directed by Dimitris Tsiamis).
In 2016, Sara formed Terpsichore - Ancient Greek Dance Company, in Lisbon. Bringing back to life the spirit of ancient times, the group of nine dancers and musicians has performed in the most important archeological ruins in Portugal including, the Roman city of Conímbriga and the Roman Theatre of Lisbon.
